The ministry project will involve three phases. First, the project director will identify best practices in biblical servant leadership through research, exploring pertinent doctrines, biblical themes, as well as input from experts. Secondly, the project director will craft selected content into training sessions. The training sessions will function as a pilot program fro required leadership development at FBCGS. Each session will be designed to address head (cognitive), heart (affective), and hands (psychomotor), presenting opportunities in each learning style. The project director designed this project utilizing the equipping model. The project began with research in the field of servant leadership, particularly focusing on servant leadership competencies as they apply in the local church context. Then, the project director identified particular competencies critical to servant leadership. The competencies and theories of servant leadership, as well as the biblical foundation of leadership as applied within the local church, were then taught to the selected men. The instruction included seven sessions that utilized a variety of teaching methods to equip the men in servant leadership competencies. In order to accomplish the goals of this project, the project director researched the topic of leadership and identified various skills of servant leadership. From the skills identified, the director identified two and researched them further: 'the character of a servant leader' and 'the vision of a servant leader.' The project consisted of a leadership workshop made up of five one-hour sessions given over a perios of Friday evening through Saturday morning. The first session was an introduction to servant leadership. In sessions two and three, about the character of a servant leader, the focus was on the skills of humility, values, and integrity.
