The intent of the equipping project was to introduce the idea of further training to a selected group of pastors and house church leaders. The project was designed to demonstrate a basic overview of the concepts needed to successfully lead house churches in Costa Rica and beyond. This project to equip house church pastors in Liberia, Costa Rica was implemented on May 6 and 7 of 2022. The purpose of the equipping sessions was to expose the selected pastors and church leaders to teachings similar to what they may receive in a seminary situation, in order to encourage them to accept the offer of additional training.The project was successful in that the material was well received and that the group of pastors acknowledged their need for further training. The pre-tests and post-tests indicated that the students’ knowledge was increased as a result of the equipping sessions. The project director began by researching the field of small group ministry and compiling an annotated bibliography of resources dealing specifically with small group leadership skills. He then surveyed a selected number of churches to determine the best practices for equipping small-group leaders. The project director utilized the research to develop a curriculum that he taught during a weekend workshop. The workshop consisted of six sessions with each lasting one hour. The transmission of this information was in the form of a workshop to a specific enlisted group of church leaders to equip them with models of adult discipleship they can employ in their ministry context. Twelve church leaders participated in the seminar. The project director developed an equipping guide, a teaching plan, and a PowerPoint presentation under the supervision of several professionals in the field and utilized them all during a weekend equipping workshop. The project director designed and administered a series of pre and post-tests to measure the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor effectiveness of the workshop. At the completion of the workshop, he evaluated the tests under the supervision of a professional in the field. The evaluations of the tests affirmed the workshop as a success. Experts were enlisted to help establish a standard for both research and workshop component quality. The project director's professional goals included increasing the project director's knowledge of missions mobilization strategies and skills in instructional theory and practice. First, the project director studied contemporary books by known church growth experts such as Thom Rainer, George Barna, Ken Hemphill, and Elmer Towns and books written by a leadership expert, John Maxwell.  Second, the project director interviewed church leaders who have helped churches transition from a plateaued church to a growing, vibrant community of believers.  Third, the project director studied the demographics of the Harbins community and the statistical data of the Ebenezer Baptist Church to compare the growth of the two entities to discover the effectiveness of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. After the research was completed, the project director developed a workshop for key leaders of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dacula, Georgia. The project was an equipping model that trained interim staff with skills and qualities that would enable them to experience success during the interim time. The workshop consisted of a workbook outlining specified skills and practices for effective and productive ministry. Because the project was an equipping model, the project consisted of four personal goals. First, current relevant materials needed to be gathered. Second, the materials needed to be organized into an appropriate teachable way to achieve the desired results. Third, the project director underwent an effective process of enlistment and scheduling.
