The select group prepared a strategy template for the church which was presented to various groups within the church. The anticipated result was to be an effective process and the curricula to better enable the volunteers to serve with some basic skills as chaplains throughout Georgia in numerous areas. The strategy included a variety of disciplines that were germane to current ministry as a church planter.  The first step was to explore models and study pertinent demographic data describing the Extremaduran people group.  Then the project director developed a strategy for making disciples among the Extremaduran people group and presented it to key leaders.  Throughout the process, goals were evaluated according to specific standards that will maintain both quality assurance and product assessment. The project director researched a sampling of existing pastor search documents and conducted interviews with church members currently or recently involved in the pastor search process for their church.  These interviews provided insight into the interpersonal dynamics at work in the congregations involved and the procedures used in smaller member congregations.  Additional study in curriculum theory helped in the development of a quality guide. The project included research of the spiritual discipline of prayer and contemporary spiritual formation methodologies.  This research led to the design, administration, and evaluation of training sessions with the selected leaders.  Training included seven weekly didactic sessions on various dimensions of individual and corporate prayer, with additional assignments between sessions.  Participants assessed assigned readings  and maintained a journal throughout the process with assigned entries germane to the subject matter.  An eighth and final session assessed the participants' mastery of the subject matter and summarized the project material. The intent of this process was to equip the participants to lead the embryonic congregation in the arena of prayer, fostering a culture in which prayer is understood, valued, and practiced. Upon completion, the strategy was approved by church staff and the strategy-development team.
