A program consisting of sermons, Sunday school lessons, and hands-on experience in worship planning was used to accomplish the purpose.  The program caused the participants to analyze their attitudes toward congregational worship and its importance to their lives. The program included training lessons to equip a prayer group and activities to involve the church.  The historical method was used to gather data on the theology of prayer.  The descriptive survey method was used to gather data on prayer ministries and prayer for missions.  The director gave pretests and posttests to evaluate changes in the group's attitudes and changes in the church's behavior. A spiritual gifts inventory showed each participant his gift or gifts.  A ministry-action plan allowed the participant to exercise his gift in the ministry program of the New Sarepta Baptist Church. Historical, descriptive, and experimental research methodologies were used with the selected group. The author used a method of research that incorporated an experimental and a control group.  Eleven teaching sessions, a pretest, and a posttest were used to accomplish this goal.  The results of the pretest and posttest showed an increase in knowledge and a positive change in participation and attitude in the experimental group. Statistically significant growth was measured in seminar participants' understanding of the biblical concept of mission (p=5.19) and committee members' development of basic leadership skills (p=1.44).
