Research was conducted regarding the psychological development of teenagers and how their development relates to interpersonal relationship skills. Current research in books, journals, and online resources were used for further study of interpersonal relationship skills. Several high school counselors were interviewed to find out how these skills impact students in schools. The teaching methods used during the training sessions were lecture, group discussions, questionnaires, participant interaction, and general evaluations. The purpose of the project was to equip lay leaders, in order to fashion, field, and lead an adult leadership team. Goals included: (1) enhancing church leadership and ministries; (2) improving the image of the church in the community; (3) replicating leaders throughout the body; (4) repairing damage from discord and abating internal conflict that has stifled the church's progress over the years. Consulting numerous print and electronic journals, ongoing leadership training programs and pastors, the project director designed a biblically-based teaching module that addresses spirituality, leadership skills training, gifts analysis with service opportunity, and conflict resolution. Another important element is evaluation of the trainees, director, and overall program effectiveness. First, the project director obtained approval from the church congregation to allow the director to establish a ministry team that would develop the process.  Second, the director researched available materials on assimilation strategies in preparation for equipping team members.  Third, the director explored the field of curriculum design to gain the skills required to create a series of sessions in which the enlisted team members were equipped.  Fourth, the director led the sessions as team members developed the process.  Last, the ministry team presented the proposed process to the congregation for consideration.
