A survey of new members added to a congregation over a four-year period reveals that more than 90 percent joined and were baptized as a result of attending the class. In the class the participants' stories become the stories of those who share them in reading and hearing. However, Africa has encountered industrialization, rapid urbanization, and migration into the cities.  The mass migration has resulted in poverty, unemployment, housing shortages, hunger and homelessness, prostitution, and delinquent children. Failure to use local languages, culture, and worldview has produced nominal and syncretistic Christians.  This project will help churches to effectively change their way of reaching these people.  The method of research was based on James and Evelyn Whitehead's tripolar theological method of doing evangelism. The thesis is that evangelization is sharing good news at a point of relevant need.  Thus, a caring deed is as much a witness as a spoken word.  However, the thesis also argues that people need to hear the invitation of Jesus to be his followers.  When the good news is proclaimed, it was emphasized that the actions of the messenger should accord with the message. After reading many books and materials in the fields of evangelism and pastoral care, the author established criteria that would give the program integrity, both theologically and practically.  He established the need through personal evaluation and a survey, and then developed the training program and relayed the dynamics of the training sessions. The purpose of the project was to make the transition from pastor-led to lay-led AIG groups as an ongoing strategy for evangelism in the local church.  The goals of the project were achieved by the following: 1) prepared a paper on the theology of evangelism reflecting the author's interaction with others in the field; 2) formed three pilot lay-led groups; 3) trained six couples; 4) prepared necessary assessment instruments; and 5) kept journal describing feelings and reflections. The strategy was 1) cable tv spreads the Christian message, and 2) personal contacts help make it believable.  The writer read in the areas of cable technology, communications, and evangelism.  Other research included interviews and workshops at a video conference.  Measuring the response of the viewers to the cable program was difficult. Laypersons were not mobilized sufficiently.  No known commitment to Christ resulted. We worked among Catholics and native religious people in three rural towns of the State of Mexico, Mexico. I assume that every person is in some point walking to or from God in a process of knowing God in spite of his or her religious journey. Resistant people are found far from understanding God's plan for their salvation. Receptive people are found close to this point. This project tries to speed up people's movement toward God through holistic love actions. This ministry breaks down resistance and makes people understand God's love for them in tangible ways. The method of study starts from a critical analysis of the Bible, tradition, and the history of medical missions in church history and in Mexico. The study's conclusions came from the instruments used to analyze the communities according to their specific needs, religious background, and their readiness for evangelization.
