A task force was recruited to investigate methods of announcing the lordship of Christ by adopting the role of journalists for the church.  Its method and results were studied over a period of several months through participation in the group, frequent consultation with the minister of the church, detailed interviews with members of the church.  The written project offers a theological reflection on these activities. The practicum's hypothesis is that when laywomen are introduced to their history through stories of significant laywomen and are provided occasions for personal reflection in the light of these stories, the experience will be empowering.  Women's contemporary situation is described and history is surveyed to substantiate the need for empowerment. The significance of stories is examined from both theological and feminist points of view. The first group designed and implemented a one-day voter registration drive in South Oak Cliff, registering 55 persons in Dallas County. The hypothesis was:  Effective incorporation and nurture of early adolescents in the Christian initiation process, particularly through preparation for Confirmation, is dependent upon a structured and active involvement on the part of the parents and godparents/sponsors in the faith community of the local parish.  A confirmation program was designed for 6th-graders and their parents.  Two tracks, one for the 6th-graders and one for the parents, ran concurrently during an eight-month period.
