This project tested the hypothesis by means of a series of planning sessions designed around major points of Barth's ecclesiology.  Each of these sessions consisted of lessons on the nature and mission of the church followed by periods of program analysis and planning. The hermeneutical process was taken from Paul Ricouer and the theology of stewardship was developed in reaction to Karl Barth's concept of 'true growth' in the community of faith.  A seminar based upon the shared Christian praxis approach was developed.  The seminar was held at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Calumet, Oklahoma. It consisted of lectures and written activities.  The seminar participants gained a new understanding of stewardship which was used to project avenues of action. This report makes use of the theology of Karl Barth to discuss spiritual formation through prayer and service as a fulfillment of our covenant relationship before God.  The report also discusses the rationale for lay involvement in the local church.
