The author investigates the unique Lukan parables and uses these as the primary source of information concerning how Luke thinks. The project sought through television to focus on needs expressed by the audience, allowing the audience to make a direct response to the counselors on the program. Methodology included a critique of television and the church's response, which included examples of programming. These concerns led to open discussions and good exchange of personal struggles. A seminar presented spiritual growth insights from developmental psychology and encouraged small-group interaction about these concepts to help Christians re-examine their own spiritual progress, develop new understanding of biblical and Christian ideas about spiritual growth, and plan intentionally for their own continuing spiritual growth. The result of this project was a workshop that taught the Lord's Prayer as the scriptural basis, the prayer of the heart as the meditative process model, and journaling as an evaluative method.  The project was carried out in a prayer workshop in the First Baptist Church of Okeene, Oklahoma in February, 1984.  The workshop setting allowed a free interchange of ideas and dealt with the needs of the individual participants. The project consisted of six classes where personality and stewardship tests were given.  Discussions about the biblical view of stewardship and one's own feelings, fears, motivations, and needs took place.
