Reading research was completed in the author's own time. Each one is given gifts in ministry.  When these gifts are discovered and developed, a team of people can be effective in ministry with young people.  This project created objectives, recruited adults as leaders, and developed a youth program.  The pastor took a leadership role, but encouraged leadership from adults and students alike. Most churches, however, need assistance in increasing the effectiveness of the congregation's ability to give care.  The writer developed a three-month training program for twelve persons to study the theology of caregiving, stages of human development, and caring skills.  Following training the trainees entered hurting situations under the writer's supervision. The idea originated from Luke 10:2 where Jesus says: 'The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'  The project method utilized parish education, recruitment and training of parish callers, prayer, visitation and training of new laborers.  One hundred potential laborers were invited to become active in a specific ministry and sixty-two persons agreed.
