How might this reality affect corporate worship? A random group of 10 individuals from a local church participated in a two day workshop. They compared the role of the high priest in the O.T. to the role of Jesus Christ as the sole mediator between humankind and God. They also compared the worship of the triune God to the current worship practices in their church. There were controversies over the inception of a worship committee, the question of using wine instead of the current grape juice for communion, the frequency of communion, and inclusive language for God. This unusual dedication suggested the thesis that hard work directly influences members' perception of their Christian faith. Members explored this thesis through study groups which formulated a survey instrument for congregational response. The results pointed to a close relationship between members' work and their belief in Jesus Christ.  Members claim to worship God through their work. This worship through work is activistic rather than pietistic.
