The Korean Presbyterian Church of Westchester's (KPCOW) EM and KM can stay together when they view themselves as a covenantal community founded by Christ based on its baptismal identity rather than its ethnic one. An ethnographic research project was then undertaken, with the usual consents and approvals, by Focus Groups before and after participation in the Renovaré Life Streams course by thirty members of the congregation in four study groups. Their participation brought about a deeper awareness of spiritual formation, and prompted further development of this issue within the congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720647482408960,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:09:18.210Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T17:17:17Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:48:58Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f3506526-1e7b-4137-b0eb-33038a286538","accessControl_ssim":["ba5f62ec-88a3-4153-a720-07ebd1359dc1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Do you hear what I hear? After the author reflected on the laity responses. I then preached both texts in two small contexts, the church and the mission in which I work. The author's conclusion is that people hear many different messages from the same text. Mark Allan Powell writes in his book, What shall they Hear? that 'in the moment of hearing a the text preached and read the listener has the power to choose what to do with our words.'
