The premise is supported by analyzing Schleiermacher, Henry, Barth, McFague, Sobrino and Schüssler Fiorenza. The study proceeds by giving a brief biographical sketch of each theologian, then her/his approach to the revealed nature of Scripture is described and an example of his/her use of Scripture is analyzed. The outcomes of each approach are demonstrated by using them to interpret John 4. Charisma is defined as 'God's grace that motivates and enables Christians to minister in God's power'. Romans 12:3-9 is the only list of 'spiritual gifts' that begins with the technical term Charismata. Distinction is made between 'offices' (Ephesians 4:11-12), 'manifestation of the Spirit' (1 Cor 12:7-11) and Charismata. The hypothesis, 'as Christians learn what their spiritual gift is, they will be freed and equipped for ministry' is supported with surveys and interviews with 21 members of St John's Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. Common characteristics of the 'same gift' are incorporated into a questionnaire written to help other Christians discover their Charismata."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717532224978944,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:19:47.269Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":4,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Blake K Richter","hits":1,"label":"Blake K Richter"},{"value":"D William McIvor","hits":1,"label":"D William McIvor"},{"value":"Glen A Thorp","hits":1,"label":"Glen A Thorp"},{"value":"Hisako Kinukawa","hits":1,"label":"Hisako Kinukawa"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Feminist theology","hits":1,"label":"Feminist theology"},{"value":"Women, Japanese","hits":1,"label":"Women, Japanese"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Bible--Criticism, interpretation","hits":4,"label":"Bible--Criticism, interpretation"},{"value":"Barth, Karl, 1886-1968","hits":1,"label":"Barth, Karl, 1886-1968"},{"value":"Bible--Study","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Study"},{"value":"Bible.
