Research was done into the theological basis for dealing with conflict.  Literature as well as in-person interviews of Unitarian historians were used to draw a record of how Unitarians and Universalists have dealt with conflicts in the past.  Extensive use of personal interviews was employed to gather information from leaders, lay and clergy, of the congregations targeted for the study. The method used was to analyze a questionnaire sent to 685 students in 7 of these mission schools.  The author found problems in government policy, Christian commitment among faculty and spiritual development of the students due to the competition to enter the top universities. The author examined the literature on shamanism and studied the theological literature on contextualization. Using the 'shared praxis approach' to religious education developed by Thomas Groome, the design enables participants to examine a spectrum of abortion perspectives, to compare their personal perspectives with this spectrum, and to grow in understanding of the biblical and theological themes of each.  The design was field-tested in a number of Presbyterian churches as a short-term (four one and a half hour sessions) adult education course.  The author trained volunteer leaders to manage the educational process.  A detailed course outline is included in the dissertation. Though consensus about abortion may never occur, abortion education using a 'shared praxis' approach helps create new levels of awareness and understanding. Churches and ministers, ignorant and inexperienced in the mission to the handicapped, need practical guidance.  But, first of all, Christians must see the disabled as persons of dignity and individual worth, as they have been created in the image of God.  The churches should recognize the problems of the disabled and take leadership in eliminating the prejudices and unfairnesses prevailing in society.  The subject of this paper was limited to mentally retarded children. Part 1 presents the general understanding of mentally retarded children; part 2 explores the biblical resources related to the education for mentally retarded children, the development of their spiritual characters and the church's sharing with them.  In part 3 these investigations are incorporated into a practical program of church education. Biblical and missiological reflections were supported by a study of the overall and financial status of the Egyptian SDA Church by means of surveys, interviews, charts and graphs.  It was discovered that the Egyptian SDA Church is fast approaching a state of deterioration and decay that must be addressed promptly and reversed. The author has brought forth the story of the massacre at Indian Island, an island within the city of Eureka, California, that happened on February 26, 1860.  The author's intent was to bring forward public events of a spiritual nature that addressed remembrance, contrition and forgiveness.
