Chapter 1 sets the parameters of the project and defines urban ministry.  Along with the church's history and demography, key factors that have contributed to the church's long-term growth and vitality are examined.  Chapter 2 contains the biblical and theological foundation for church growth.  The biblical analysis is meshed with the theological implications for urban ministry.  Chapter 3 focuses on the inherent obstacles that challenge an inner city congregation.  Special attention is given to confronting and overcoming a wide variety of common church growth impediments.  Chapter 4 includes principles and methods that have facilitated the sustained growth of an inner city church.  These transferable concepts can assist other churches' productivity. Chapter 5 provides an evaluation of accomplishments and remaining challenges. Chapter 1 identified the challenges facing the church and defined the project's purpose. Chapter 2 explored the biblical concepts of spiritual gifts with special emphasis on the implications of spiritual possession and its relationship with the individual personality. Chapter 3 articulated the implications of using the Enneagram personality typologies as a tool for liberating the spirit within the individual. Chapter 4 outlined the Spiritual Gifts Workshop used to implement the program. Chapter 5 evaluated the effects of the workshop within both a short-term (six week) and long-term (five year) framework.
