The author determined through research that servant evangelism has both a biblical and theological foundation. After studying how a pastor can lead his church to an outward focus, the author enlisted volunteers to participate in servant evangelism projects. Three social science research techniques were used to measure the effectiveness of the project. These included a questionnaire in pretest/posttest format, interviews, and focus groups. Chapter 1 offers the stated goals of the project, as well as an in-depth introduction into the church and local community surrounding the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Chapter 2 specifically addresses the biblical, theological, and historical foundations for spiritual gifts. A thorough examination of God's active Spirit in both the Old and New Testaments is presented. Chapter 3 discusses three current training programs for spiritual gifts-based discipleship ministries as they relate to the local church. Two existing church models will also be highlighted as well. Chapter 4 is the step-by-step implementation of the ministry project that was successfully completed at Modest Town Baptist Church. A detailed analysis of all relevant statistical information is also presented and discussed within the context of this chapter. Chapter 5 offers an evaluation of the ministry project. Chapter 2 begins with the birth of the Sudan Interior Mission and substantiates its mission emphasis by prayer in West Africa. Chapter 3 examines hindrances to prevailing prayers and the Nigerian Evangelical Church of West Africa involvement with charismatic movement. Chapter 4 addresses the importance of prayer in mission and biblical imperatives of praying for mission. Prayer strategies for rapid exponential increase of church planting are also included. A discipleship strategy was implemented at Calhoun Baptist Church with the objective of producing quantitative and qualitative growth. A biblical model, as well as scriptural instructions concerning the development of disciples as a means of producing growth supported the cultural background and sociological trends affecting the performance of the strategy. The methods and procedures for the implementation of the strategy were outlined in the project. Chapter two begins with the biblical images for social ministry as being the bedrock for visitation and care-giving. Specifically, this chapter analyzes the theological reflections and its influences on the growth and nurture of the church. Chapter three identifies the historical significance of hospitals and nursing homes. Attention is also given to the nature and structure of hospitals and nursing homes. Chapter four addresses the selection of volunteers for training in hospital visitation. An analysis of the instruments used for preparation is included. Chapter two gives the biblical, theological, and historical basis for building teams to do ministry. Moses, Paul, and Jesus provide the biblical examples while John Wesley is used as a historical case for teamwork in ministry. Chapter three examines the contemporary secular and Christian resources to inform the project. teamwork, leadership, the purpose statement, core values, vision, and strategy are examined to provide an overview of intentional leadership. Chapter four covers what happened during the three-month project. Giving a report of what happened and who was involved, this chapter focuses on giving the facts of what happened. Chapter five is the evaluation of the project. This chapter shares the goals that were met and those that were not. Franklin Baptist Church that were made during childhood in order to ascertain whether or not these professions of faith were authentic salvation experiences. A biblical examination is made of conversion, its application to children, and the possibility of false professions of faith. Childhood professions of faith are examined from psychological,  sociological, and historical points of view. Social research is used to determine the authenticity of the professions of faith that the congregation of Mt. Franklin Baptist Church made during childhood.
