The majority of Seventh-day Adventist churches in Texas are in a district consisting of two or three churches that share one pastor. The district pastor often can not be in every church each week, creating a need for lay leaders to preach. This D.Min. project is divided into two sections. The first three weeks of this project will equip the local pastor to become a mentor to lay leaders in order to help them develop skills in Bible-based preaching. During the next six weeks, each pastor will lead in a workshop that is designed to assist one or both lay leaders in their development and delivery of a Bible-based, Christ-centered sermon. It is intended specifically to enhance the acceleration of church planting in France.  The training consists of eight sessions taught by the author to participants from several different churches of the French Baptist Federation in the western suburbs of Paris.
