There are four main goals: content creation; publication of the content; distribution of content for teaching/preaching; and engagement with the content – presentations to targeted market segments. The application of the dissertation project is to communicate that the practice of giving in the church community today can be informed, enriched, and inspired by the biblical patterns and principles found in Old Testament narratives. The core of the dissertation project is the drafting of a preaching/teaching series on profiles of giving in the Old Testament based on a selection of historical narratives drawn from the Pentateuch and Historical Books. To complement the teaching series, the project will create ancillary educational resources: blogs, published articles, videos, and a book.William J. Stevens, D. Min. It will seek to provide an efficient model for the strategic integration of discipleship ministries by merging the existing Sunday School ministry with a new home fellowship ministry at Southside Baptist Church of Port Neches, Texas. Focusing upon the importance of the biblical concept of 'koinonia,' the project will seek to create a positive atmosphere for the successful development of disciples in this congregation. Recognizing the importance of encouraging inactive members to comprehend their calling to become active disciples, the project will attempt to provide a model where such members are integrated into a setting that will promote their spiritual development. The project will focus on the Scriptural definition and purpose of 'koinonia' and propose strategic ways to develop such fellowship in the context of Sunday School. Encumbrances and obstacles that hinder a successful integration of both Sunday School and home cell groups will be addressed openly. As far as can be ascertained, such a model for revitalizing Sunday School through the use of home cell groups has not been offered. The project was necessary because of both space and financial restrictions.  A task group was trained with a leadership training manual written by the author.  Participants in the training program were then enlisted to lead new adult small groups.  The project resulted in the establishment of several new groups.
