Generation to Generation by Edwin Friedman is an important family systems resource for the study.  Instruments produced by XICOM facilitated leadership assessment.  On their genograms the participants indicated family themes, emotions, traumas, triangles, and leadership characteristics over three generations.  The four instruments aided the participants to identify leadership resources in their genograms and family systems. New member assimilation can be best improved by developing a healthy system that new members may join.  The project involved 10 church members in an eight-week study using lectures, group dialogue, and psychological instruments.
