The extension of adolescence has received much attention, and there are indicators delayed development of adolescents significantly affects society in a number of ways: families, economies, educational institutions, and local churches. Data was collected through surveys and interviews with emerging adults. The project was organized around the three major tasks of adulthood: establishing autonomy, developing community, discovering vocation. Church leaders need to understand and seek effectiveness in this nurture process. The author identifies faith outcomes to expect at various stages, resulting from research into childhood development theories. He then reports on a strategic planning session aimed at identifying initiatives that would enable Damascus Community Church to become more effective in realizing those outcomes through their children's ministries.
