This project attempts to help Evangelical Baptist Missions (EBM) to begin addressing the challenges that church mission leaders face. Five church missions teams were used to gather data to identify the greatest challenges churches face in missions ministry. These challenges include developing accountability with missionaries, mobilizing and involving the congregation, developing a strategic, proactive approach to missions, qualifying and developing potential missionaries and encouraging financial support. Participants described the content, mode and personnel involved in their training, and gave suggestions for improvements, most rating it adequate for what they encountered, and indicating increased interest in long-term service. This project proposes that the example of church planting by training a national to pastor a new church, coupled with biblical analysis of discipling, yields a pattern for leadership training. Theories of nonformal education from the fields of psychology and education reinforce nonformal training on the field.  Internship as developed in this project involves one year of learning language, culture, and religions integrated into responsible planting of a church. Mission subjects tuaught include anthropology, interpersonal relationships, world religions, cross-cultural communication, and church planting. It seeks to answer the question: 'Looking at the hostage crisis, what lessons are there to be learned by the mission in managing such a crisis?' The project makes use of relevant literature, materials related to the crisis, and interviews with involved personnel to answer this question.
