Through this process, he pursued to develop more powerful and effective expository preaching in contemporary context of Korea. The discipleship in this project is a culmination of research in the Bible, a survey of historical and contemporary literature, the surveying of two para-church collegiate ministries and two local churches, along with the feedback of a focus group. Discipleship is found to be personal dedication to a lifelong, intergenerational journey with a local church.  The preaching ministry is gifted by Jesus to accomplish three main goals: 1) works of service, 2) unity in the faith, and 3) knowledge of the Son of God (Eph 4:11-13). After carefully defining a theology of expository preaching, this project utilized the gifts and abilities of seven evangelical pastors to each preach twice, and then critically evaluate and comment on the messages of the other six, over a six month time frame. It was primarily accomplished over the internet. It hypothesizes that orchestrating covenant relationships produce a benefit to a small group's relational health by restraining both harmful cultural values and weak human nature that dissuades people from nurturing resilient bonds. To promote the acceptance of covenant-making, a three-step process includes assessment, instruction and training, and implementation for a facilitator to follow based upon exegetical and theological proofs supported by supplemental sociology research. The assessment step was applied to a local church's small group program and evaluated. This project attempts to help Evangelical Baptist Missions (EBM) to begin addressing the challenges that church mission leaders face. Five church missions teams were used to gather data to identify the greatest challenges churches face in missions ministry. These challenges include developing accountability with missionaries, mobilizing and involving the congregation, developing a strategic, proactive approach to missions, qualifying and developing potential missionaries and encouraging financial support. The thesis is that contemporary fathers will exhibit behavioral, cognitive and affective change with proper equipping that is lacking in contemporary families and churches. Fathers were given a series of stories written from the author's experience as a pilot. These stories are a prelude to biblical stories to be used with dialogue eliciting questions that invite vulnerability from father and son.
