The study was an action research using a qualitative phenomenological approach. A reflective program, named 'Uncommon-8-weeks' was designed and introduced to the congregants to practice reflection on eight sermons preached for eight consecutive weeks. Research result identified seven aspects of post-preaching reflection: remembering, considering, connecting, self-examining, desiring, planning, and acting. A prayer guide was used during the forty day exercise. Interviews and a questionnaire were used to capture the participants' prayer practices before and after the forty days. The analysis of the participants' responses provided the research with a before and after picture of the participant's prayer lives.
