A qualitative research method was employed using surveys and in-depth interviews.  The researcher discovered that conflict situations exist, that participants have an understanding of conflict, and that they believe the church should be concerned about the issue of conflict.  Many participants have unresolved feelings where conflict situations are not engaged. The system includes a comprehensive training program and subsequent ministry of pastoral supervision, and is tested with a pilot group of conflict resolution consultants. The research demonstrates the effectiveness of the system in assisting churches and church staffs in resolving conflicts. It also describes how the persons involved were enriched by developing skills and confidence in conflict management. A small group of members were taught models of conflict resolution and became the demonstration setting for practicing creative conflict resolution.  Pre- and post-testing demonstrated growth and positive change in each participant.  The congregation changed from self-defeating patterns in conflict, such as avoidance, to ones which accept diversity and value in appropriate conflict resolution.
