In this project, the author, a judicatory executive, designs and conducts a six-month intervention for testing several assumptions regarding his role with churches, pastors, and lay people within the context of the covenantal polity of the United Church of Christ. The method used to develop the model followed two designs: the use of a survey questionnaire, and the interaction with and observation of a group of twelve pastors and interns. Together these sources suggested a type of supervision which focused on administration of congregational life and program, pastoral care, social ministry, stewardship, enabling lay ministry, and which experienced the supervisory relationship as one of working together and planning jointly. The context of the study is marital therapy.  The possibility of denominalizing commonly used theological terms in the context of marital therapy hopes to give each member of the union additional choices over his-her communication and reconciliatory processes.  Evaluation of this experiment was pursued by subjective means with an emphasis on clinical observation. These poor self-images seem to produce low self-confidence which affects the way persons express themselves as Christians and as human beings.  A Bible study undergirded by an investigation concerning self-image in the Bible, process theology, and psychosynthesis was posited to enhance self-image.  Such a Bible study, with careful attention to using both hemispheres of the brain, was constructed. To prepare for the seminar the author developed a Christian anthropology, researched the subject of stress and prepared seminar materials. After conducting it, he reviewed his findings with professionals from various disciplines and refined the process in further offerings.  Although the evaluations were not scientifically conclusive, participants in the seminars were very appreciative. This project sought to assist such growth through developing personal learning plans based on ministry needs in a supportive group context.  Ten Fort Wayne Lutheran pastors met monthly for eight months. Beginning with lay and self-evaluation of pastoral functions, each pastor developed a learning plan complete with goals, resources, time table and accountability structure. The author and ten women used two sections of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola to provide the framework for Christian decision making in developing such a process.  With Mary Magdalene as role model, they researched the needs of women through study, dialogue and personal experience and produced a written guide.
