More specifically, a covenant-based spirituality model was implemented in the organizational life of the First United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska, with each of the committees, councils, and boards participating in the process.  A pre- and post-project questionnaire was designed and conducted to measure the impact of the covenant-based spirituality model on individuals, committees, and the congregation.  In addition, a questionnaire was provided to those who were directly involved in the implementation of the covenant process. The project includes the development of a pre- and post-evaluative tool to collect feedback from the participants, and the writing of Bible study materials which can be used by individuals or in a class setting. Two churches, while maintaining their independence, have been drawn together in mission to the community through joint programs of nurture and outreach, and administratively through the organization of a parish council. Lay visitors were recruited and engaged in ten training and supervisory sessions.  During three months they visited active and inactive church members.  Parables of Jesus provided a framework for understanding the visitations.  Listening, caring, motivation and other pastoral skills were demonstrated, practiced and applied.  Various problems and opportunities were encountered and dealt with in recruiting, motivating, and training visitors. The methodology required identification of personnel needs, equipment needs, start-upcosts, marketing plan, referral methods, and origination of printed forms.  Methodology was tested, refined, and evaluated during actual mediations. Video recordings of faith stories in the local church were made.  This video composite was used as a springboard for encouraging participants to share their faith and begin the corporate story for the local church.  The project includes biblical and theological background for individual and corporate faith development. Recognition of one's own feelings and the feelings of others, to the extent they are important, was involved in the problem solving process.  The goal was to keep the rational processes functioning when considering alternatives in solving problems in human relationships. Consultation was collaborative in that the department directors worked together in the learning process. The course, entitled, 'Women and Jesus, Women and Paul,' is an attempt, using the historical-critical method of biblical scholarship, to trace the growth of misogynism, both biblical and societal, from its origin in Greek philosophy, to its culmination in the pastoral epistles. In the process, the example and teachings of Jesus are studied, as well as the writings of the Pauline corpus, both authentic and pseudo.  The content of the research is extensively detailed, and the method of instruction outlined and discussed.
