Members of the congregations were surveyed following six sermons on Romans 12 and five sermons on Old Testament heroes. Additionally, participants attended a two-day retreat and completed pre- and post- surveys. The results of the survey confirmed that daily worship should be a prerequisite to church leadership. This project promotes a public health approach to the treatment of substance abuse by treating the family rather than the individual. Five sessions using an impromptu skit and four didactic sessions educated the abusers about the roles family members play in dysfunctional families. Sermons and a survey drafted by the researcher served as the basis for determining their fulfillment level. Employing the qualitative surveys and questionnaires, they were able to express their fulfillment levels. Consequently, the study revealed that the majority expressed fulfillment in their respective roles. The goal was to improve the quality of 'spiritual' life of the participants through a primary focus of 'spiritual painting' accompanied by prayer, meditation, and Bible story reading. Most of the participants suffered from either or both mental and physical disability. Even though normal communication and activity participation was somewhat limited, meaningful qualitative and quantitative assessments were obtained. The hypothesis was that associate ministers lacked mentoring and training in the area of ministry. To accomplish this goal, five instructional classes were taught on mentoring and training for associate ministers. Pre- and post-test results of the instructional classes showed that the associate ministers were untrained and improperly mentored. The hypothesis was that through the Sunday school program, families could be better equipped to do faith development in the home. New curriculum choices, teacher training and parent resources were introduced to accomplish this goal. Pre- and post-testing of the parents in the church showed that the research project did provide the parents the resources needed to continue the Sunday school lessons at home. A case study was implemented to evaluate the experiences of those that participated in a well-planned series of consciousness-raising transforming seminars.
