To answer the research questions, qualitative research methods were used, specifically methodological triangulation: a questionnaire was disseminated to one group, and interviews were conducted with two other groups of prayer ministers. The instruments were developed for data collection. A pilot study was conducted ensuring reliability and validity; adjustments were made accordingly. Smithfield Baptist Church located in Gloucester, Virginia served as the context for this project. The researcher hypothesized that the freedom of worship and the availability of relevant ministry opportunities would provoke an attitudinal change in the current parishioner, as well as increase church participation and growth. A mixed methodological approach was used to measure the project's effectiveness including focus groups, pre and post survey questionnaires, workshop questionnaires, and workshop evaluations. Nine woven garments were completed and have been shared in four ministry contexts. The author's understanding of redemption was expanded by liberation theologians. The beatitudes and fruit of the Spirit proved to be a strong foundation for the work of art. The methodology utilized to accomplish this goal was the qualitative approach. The results revealed that as persons gained a better awareness of themselves, they were better able to draw from their experiences to form relationships with other people, the crux of new faith communities. The focus was on intentional discipleship through an adult Christian education program of Bible, in combination with behavioral and spiritual disciplines to increase biblical knowledge, change behavior, and change attitudes toward discipleship. The data suggests that there were positive changes in biblical literacy, attitude, the practice of spiritual disciplines, and in making disciples. Additionally, participants attended a two-day retreat and completed pre- and post- surveys. The results of the survey confirmed that daily worship should be a prerequisite to church leadership.
