Through multiple interviews at sites in Oregon and Washington, the author discovered that welcoming newcomers requires the church to adopt a missional mindset that serves the community. Congregants individually serve where the community sees a need and build relationships that provide a basis for introducing friends to Jesus. Prior work in this field has not taken into account the research that has been undertaken regarding employee commitment/satisfaction in the disciplines of organizational management.  The hypothesis tested in this product seeks to confirm, in the context of the local church, such research. Over 500 visitors pass through the church every year.  Most are seeking a new church.  In spite of this, attendance has remained flat for five years. Intentional involvement of new people should increase their chance of staying with the church.  Changes were made in purpose, vision, organization, and leadership. After one year, questionnaires were answered by those who stayed and left after attending for a while.
