The case studies used are from the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, but the findings apply to the whole Christian community. I understand that the intent of God since creation was for humanity to be diverse and to live together in harmony. Using my experiences as Area Minister, I explore some of the major barriers we need to overcome in order to create multicultural churches. This network would work with the Office of Cooperative Christianity in Valley Forge, Pa, to disseminate information and resources to regions and congregations, and sponsor and support ecumenical programs that are beyond the financial resources of any single region.  Based on historical research, surveys, and interviews, the project proposes that such a network would coordinate effectively all the ecumenical efforts in the denomination. The method of investigation included a theological study of the process and the obtaining of data from pastors and church committees through questionnaires and interviews.  The result of the study indicate that plannaging is suitable for use in a church, is helpful for administration, and that pastors lack confidence in the use of plannaging following training. For fifteen years, American Baptist Churches have used a printed form,  'Church Self-Study of Goals and Leadership Needs', to aid this reflection process.  The purpose of this project was to rewrite the form for the American Baptist Personnel Services.  Information was gained from persons directly acquainted with the document.  These resources included search committees, executive ministers, area ministers and pastors.  Data from each participating group was gathered and analyzed to form the background for the new document of church reflection.  The new form discusses the disciplined and guided thought which takes place when a church deliberately looks at itself -- its being, belief, function and mission. Following the development of a church-specific version of plannaging manuals, selected clergy were trained as trainers who in turn trained one hundred fifty pastors throughout New England in the use of plannaging.  This training enabled these pastors to use plannaging in their personal and professional life.
