Three research protocols were developed in a hospital setting. Approval by the hospital institutional review board was obtained, and the studies were implemented. Different populations and approaches were selected to illustrate that quantitative research for spiritual interventions can be implemented throughout the continuum of cancer treatment. Data has been obtained from two of the studies. Messer's attempt to show inherent within any congregation is the imaginative spirit and the gift of theological reflection. With this gift a congregation will experience the intimate God in congregational life. The project surveys their present attempts to grow in collaboration.
