This research uses a focus group interview method to record individual conversion narratives. The literature review focuses on the mission of the church, evangelism, conversion, the Holy Spirit's role in conversion, and evidences of conversion. The findings are threefold. First, conversion narratives at Vineyard Church of Columbus do not reflect traditional evangelical conversion categories. Second, the narratives did reflect a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. The hypothesis was that persons who participated in the experience would be better equipped to provide leadership in the church.  Two groups participated:  a test group and a control group.  Both groups completed the Spiritual Leadership Qualities Inventory before and after the experience. The scores revealed improvement in seven of nineteen leadership characteristics in the test group. Eighty percent of the test group believed their readiness for leadership increased.
