Throughout the Scriptures and the history of the Christian church, God has revealed his heart for rural people and places. The purpose of this praxis was to encourage and equip pastors for effective rural ministry through biblical, historical, and practical reflection. A group of eight rural pastors participated in a series of four one-hour workshops and a one-hour discussion session. The director was able to assess the value of the praxis through questionnaires and a discussion forum. Persuasive preaching's goal is to convince the listener to align his or her attitude and action with the message of the sermon. This study seeks to discover a paradigm for this. The praxis director chose twelve individuals to participate in surveys and interviews. The director preached a series of four sermons focused on one general theme. After the sermon series, the director conducted a ministry program directly connected to the theme of the sermon series. As a whole, the participants experienced greater levels of perceived spiritual growth while participating in the practice of the spiritual disciplines.
