The objective is to provide a systematic strategy for restoring a declining, dysfunctional and stalled church to a growing, healthy and vibrant congregation. The field research involved case studies. Though every case study was unique, every church was found to have utilized seven turnaround factors in its revitalization. The desperation and urgency of the church resulted in a more immediate and less difficult turnaround process. Traits of the generations are discovered through literature review and field research, using the grounded theory method. Second, mission is described with eight viral factors that caused the spontaneous expansion of the early church. Third, the researcher created strategies to maximize the traits of the generations by reviewing which traits are leverageable or prohibitive related to the viral factors. Generational entelechies are discovered and generational cultures are defined to build a whole-church multi-generational missional culture.
