The reporting by clergy of any suspicion of certain types of abuse is mandated by state law.  The reactions and observations of selected attorneys, judges, and human service workers about the way clergy report abuse is described.  Issues are discussed. Guest speakers and movies, as well as discussions, covered a general overview of the problem in New Hampshire and elsewhere, the various categories of abuse, means of prevention, and methods of treatment.  Special attention was given to the response of the clergy to child abuse--their legal responsibility to report it, their moral responsibility to accept it, and their need to deal with their own psychological reaction to it.
