The study holds that such relating is facilitated when couples are encouraged to tell their story in the context of the living tradition of the church.  The study is exploratory, seeking to uncover dynamics and concepts relevant to story-based marriage preparation.  It employs a phenomenological method to follow the journey of four couples through a program based on Cooper and Navone's narrative theology. A pilot group provided feedback throughout the investigation.
