It reviewed the aging process, the spiritual needs of the elderly, and the impact of addressing the spiritual needs of the elderly.  A design for a continuing education workshop for nursing home administrators was developed, tested, and evaluated. This project describes the process used to compile a handbook for local church pastors with specific focus on white 'Old Yankee' Protestant women over the age of seventy-five. The specific concern of the program is the emphasis placed on the spiritual well-being of the residents.  The project begins with an overview of the program and the development of a theology of aging.  Problems and attitudes associated with aging and older persons are also stressed.  In addition, institutionalized care is discussed and the development of a ministry to and with the residents and staff is explored.
