He notes a contemporary waning of covenantalism and a skewing of voluntarism into expressive individualism.  In response to this individualism, two practices for a reclamation of covenantalism among Southern Baptists is presented: congregational covenant-making and covenantal consultation.  A model of consultation is developed which is congruent with the covenant heritage.
