Three objectives, working with longer-term clients for in-depth reconstruction, shorter-term clients for the speed of their completion, and clients having affairs for recommitment to their marriages, were met.  Clinical data was evaluated to interpret the clients' maturation. A pre-test questionnaire measured levels of marital satisfaction and the endorsement of irrational beliefs and offered rational alternatives to these beliefs to determine the impact of the workshop. She presents herself as in desperate need of affirmation.  The woman feels that she is not in control of her life and is a failure in both her profession and her marriage.  The author uses object relations mode of therapy to treat the woman.  He integrates this approach with theological aspects which are suggested by Paul Tillich's writings.  The client's husband joins her in therapy.  This addition contributes to the building of a satisfying marital relationship. The data for this project were obtained through the use of questionnaires completed by laity and clergy in this denomination.  The major conclusion drawn from this study is that the clergy is providing premarriage counseling which includes the topics of importance from the viewpoint of the laity.
