This project considers the spiritual needs unique to persons with alzheimer's, and how faith communities can respond to those needs.  A framework of pastoral ministry outlined by Eugene Peterson is used to examine the ministries of three professionals working with persons with alzheimer's. As chaplains develop pastoral relationships with their 'congregants' with Alzheimer's disease, they need an understanding of how they can provide spiritual and pastoral care to those who have lost not only their capacity to remember but are also losing their precious memories.
