AI is a process that can lead to vision discernment by building on past successes and creating a sense of missional alignment. AI is based on organizational and social theory that, when combined with theological understandings, provide the church and leadership with a methodology for discernment that will engage a large portion of a congregation. This is a grounded study that engaged a 1200+ membership church in a large AI. This narrative study tells the story of the work of a visioning ministry group in the days prior to and during the 2006 Synod.
