From this, a distinction between the forms of worship and the substance of worship is offered. Following this distinction, new forms are suggested for worship.  Finally, the psychology of change is presented, with strategies offered.  Research is primarily through books contained in bibliography. 'Resistance to change' is a phenomenon common to every social institution. Although universal in scope, resistance to change is rooted in the internal and interpersonal dynamics of each congregation and is as unique and particular as each congregation.
