Liberty Square is a 54-square-block area of federally subsidized housing located in Liberty City.  Eight African-American congregations surround Liberty Square, but over 200 African-American churches are located in Liberty City.  Most of these churches have ignored the problems in Liberty Square. This necessitates the intervention of pastoral care. This project focuses on one inner-city school, and the need some of its students and members of staff have for pastoral care. The Christian Church, and the role that pastoral care plays in its ministry are explored, and ten cases discovered to be in need of pastoral care intervention are highlighted.
