The Church claims a theology of communion of the saints which is exemplified in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. However, it has not significantly crossed the cultural divide. This paper examines the understanding of two of these church communities, one Mexican-American and one Anglo-American, regarding the Lord's Supper. Churches need to practice the Eucharist in spaces other than church sanctuaries, and space in sanctuaries should be organized to embody meanings of the Eucharist. Churches should also embody in the Eucharist a Christian understanding and practice of time rather than an American time orientation.
