This pilot study (n=4) explored the effectiveness of its curriculum on spiritual growth, vocational discernment, and the use of spiritual practices. The curriculum included book studies, mission outreach, and the spiritual practices of prayer, Scripture reading, silence, and shared work like the Taizé community. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected at baseline, mid-point, and endpoint. This project focused on a congregation in transition. The author explored the use of resources from the 'missional church' conversation. She used the 'Three Zone Model of Missional Leadership' and 'The Missional Change Model' by Roxburgh and Romanuk in a process of participatory action research. Attention was paid to the role that renewal of baptismal identity and worship play in helping a congregation transition toward missional identity. This narrative study tells the story of the work of a visioning ministry group in the days prior to and during the 2006 Synod.
