Analyses will also be drawn from a review of conversations with the preachers about money, wealth, and justice. The results of this study are shared and compared with relevant critical, New Testament, and homiletical scholarship. Aristotle's science of literature, called Poetics, is a strategy for reading and interpreting scripture and for preaching that creates an encounter with God during which the people experience themselves as claimed by God for life in God's Kingdom. The strategy identifies ways the drama of scripture imitates life through plot, language, characters, and reason. Through the faculty of imagination, the preacher interprets scripture using these poetic elements and transports the same into the sermon. The congregants enter into the drama both of scripture and sermon, locating themselves in the plot, identifying with the characters, and experiencing new alternatives for life as Christian disciples."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127702611165184,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:48:07.384Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:53:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:22:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fc503d27-bfb7-4264-893e-1652a763b8f1","accessControl_ssim":["94b78ded-1ed9-47db-9994-f684fa1394e7"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The preacher as community builder: a collaborative preaching metaphor"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:53:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:20:33Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d336259b-77d6-4367-8f9e-b9ce1854939c"],"hasLease_ssim":["d0e0ef9e-09e7-46a7-8b42-25de4a435027"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Anna Carter Florence"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Harvey Darrell Watson"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Bible.
