This project focused on a group of preachers who gathered to engage scripture in creative ways and then to continue practices individually. The author explored ways in which intentionally making time for spiritual practices affects the preacher as well as the sermon. The research involved a twelve-week study of a lectionary group of preachers, interviews of numerous preachers outside the group, and journal entries. This study connects pilgrimage with the contemporary theological dialogue about Christian practices, particularly relying on the work of Dorothy Bass. The research examines one congregation's exploration of pilgrimage. This project focuses on the implementation of missional principles in a particular congregation to shift its narrative of decline to a narrative of revitalization. The report explores Second Presbyterian Church's historical identity leading to its period of decline, identifies missional principles, and then traces the narrative of the implementation of those principles within the congregation. When in reality the sharing is taking place in the everyday world amongst the chaos of a routine day.  What we think may be chaos is in reality engaging with the community to carry out the work of the Holy Spirit. The report explores the conversations of twelve parents with children ages two to eighteen.  Using observation and parents themselves as co-researchers to explore how they share and teach spirituality with their children. This report is based on the collaborative method of sermon preparation and preaching, based on the 'roundtable pulpit' methodology developed by John S. McClure. Identification with place and the loss of place in the Katrina disaster are examined, specifically at Grace Episcopal Church and the Mid-City neighborhood.
