Nurturing leadership is needed in order to develop and grow congregants. The purpose of this study was to investigate how senior pastors develop their congregants through nurturing leadership. Research questions:  How do senior pastors develop their congregants in spiritual renewal, spiritual gifts? The challenges that they face and the benefits gain. Eight pastors were interviewed, using a qualitative semi-structured format, and data was analyzed using the constant comparative method.  Using nurturing leadership pastors renew, transform, grow and develop their congregant spiritual gifts. A qualitative design with semi-structured interviews of seven ministry leaders was utilized. The research focused on the four spheres of the social domain: relationship with God, self, others and the physical world. The doctrine of adoption was found to have such profound implications on the social domain that it is necessary that ministry leaders develop this doctrine in their discipleship plan. However, it is unclear how and where they are being equipped. The purpose of this study was to explore how career worship directors became equipped for long-term vocational worship ministry in the Reformed church. The study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with ten worship directors, analyzed in a constant comparative method. The research explored experiences from childhood through the early years of church work that developed their musicality, spiritual formation, leadership skills, and Reformed theology of worship. The researcher conducted a literature review of homileticians, public speaking experts, and Bible commentators to investigate the problem of PSA and what can be done about it. Additionally, qualitative research was conducted in which the researcher interviewed experienced preachers who have suffered the symptoms of PSA and have experienced improvement in their condition. The author has designed and implemented a training sequence for ministry teams with the purpose of improving productivity and cohesiveness. Data was gathered using the 'Teamwork Survey', a forced-choice instrument administered to participants prior to and after participation in training, as well as personal interviews. The questionnaire 'Officer Training Evaluation' was developed and given to all current officers and to the men who had completed officer- training class but did not submit to ordination.  Results of the evaluation suggest that changes made because of this project improved the officer training process and aided in the relationships between the elders and deacons and between the session and the board of deacons. The results were as follows:  since pastoral effectiveness is something that only God can produce, pastors must rely upon the Holy Spirit in their ministries.  Pastoral efectiveness flows from the daily personal relationship pastors have with Christ and must be continually measured against God's word.
