The author's intention in this dissertation is to make the fruits of his intensive study of 52 of the greatest English hymns, available to all who will utilize them. The approach of this study is to use the preaching charge of the Apostle Paul to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:1-5 as the basic outline of study.
