Postmodern authors have noted a significant change in Western culture, affecting world view and specifically denying the existence of an over-arching explanation of reality known as metanarrative. This study employed a qualitative research design interviewing twelve Teaching Elders of the PCA. The findings revealed a strong commitment to the Reformed value that scripture alone is sufficient as a source for the content of sermons. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with eight pastors and some spouses. The review of literature examined scripture, Christian and secular literature regarding ministry and marriage. The interviews focused on how church planting impacts the planters, spouses and their marriages.
